On the other hand, being an entrepreneur means having to take greater financial risks. It is possible that the business will not make a profit or even lose money, which can cause significant financial losses for the business owner. Additionally, profits generated from a business may be unstable and depend on external factors such as the economy and business competition.


2.     High Time and Energy Demands

Being an entrepreneur also requires more time and energy than being an employee. As an entrepreneur, one has to pay attention to many things such as business management, product development, marketing, sales, and administration. All of this requires more time and energy and often takes more than 8 hours a day.

Meanwhile, as an employee, someone usually has structured working hours and can limit working time so that they can have enough time for rest, recreation or family. This provides a better balance between work and personal life.


3.     Lack of Experience and Business Skills

To become a successful entrepreneur, one must have sufficient experience and business skills. Some of the business skills required are management, finance, marketing, and sales. If a person does not have these experiences or skills, then becoming an entrepreneur can become more difficult and risky.

As an employee, a person usually has certain experiences and skills that are relevant to their job. This provides advantages for those who want to find work in the same field and earn a greater income.


4.     Lack of Capital and Resources

Starting a business requires sufficient capital and resources to develop products, market the business, and expand the business network. If one does not have sufficient capital or resources, then starting a business can be more difficult.

As an employee, one does not need to worry about this as the company usually provides the necessary capital and resources to carry out their duties.


5.     Lower Risk

Being an entrepreneur means having to take bigger risks than being an employee. High business risks can have an impact on the survival of a person and their family. When a business fails, the business owner can lose capital, income and even the assets he owns.

On the other hand, as employees, the risks they face are lower because they are not responsible for the survival of the business or company. When a company experiences losses or goes bankrupt, employees still have the option to look for work elsewhere.


6.     Lack of Motivation

Being an entrepreneur also requires high motivation to continue to innovate and develop in business. A person must be able to motivate themselves to continue moving forward and achieve the goals they have set.

However, not everyone has high motivation to become an entrepreneur. Some people may prefer to be employees because they feel comfortable with a structured and routine work environment.
